Mark Ang
Deputy Social Chair
Mark is from Southern California. He’s a Moderate Republican, but still in love with Ronald Reagan. He reads every political blog out there from Redstate to HotAir to DailyKos. He’s also a huge election junkie and follows politics like sports. Mark grew up with Fox News on 24/7 in his household.
As the Deputy Social Chair, Mark parties harder than Democrats try to raise taxes.
Jamie Boothe
Deputy Director of Intergroup Affairs
Jamie is a Pre-Med freshman in Columbia College. He’s involved in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and keeps up on the world through The New York Times, Fox News, and The Huffington Post (to beat the left, one must know the left). He supports capitalism, free trade, small constitutionally-limited government, states’ rights, the right to bear arms, low taxes, firm national defense, and traditional American values. He believes that “In God We Trust” perfectly highlights how our nation is grounded in religious principles, and thinks that faith provides a strong moral tentpost for a sound people and government. Jamie is a supporter of the Tea Party movement. He comes from a small town in the mountainous heart of Appalachia; Green Bank, West Virginia.
As the Deputy Social Chair, Jamie ensures that CUCR have good relations with other groups on campus.
Alexander Simmonds
Deputy Creative Director
Currently enjoying the sites and sounds of the pubs of Oxford, Alexander is CUCR’s resident Kiwi-English-Canadian. He’s a liberal conservative of the British school. Disraeli and Edmund Burke are his homeboys, efficiency is his watchword, and capitalism his practice. His special relationship with the rest of the board involves toleration on their part for the two wars his country lost against ours and the two more times we had to bail them out of theirs. He tolerates our single minded pursuit of freedom that borders on anarchy and can be a bit excessive to this refined Brit. When he’s not attending board meetings for the Republicans or Port & Policy with the Oxford Conservatives, he’s rowing on the Isis. But we have his number. Remember: one if by land, two if by sea.
